Very interesting story by Keith Morelli in The Tampa Tribune about how the economy has changed the face of pawn shops. A big part of the story is about how one unidentified former Buccaneer pawned his Super Bowl championship ring.
Some interesting numbers on the value of the ring. It cost about $17,000 to make. The former player received $6,000 from the pawn shop in exchange for the ring. The owner of the pawn shop turned around and sold it to a fan for $25,000.
