The NFC South Blog is about to begin the trek to Charlotte, a town where I lived for nearly nine years.
Hoping to hit the world’s best gymnasium this afternoon, a place where I used to play pickup basketball with former North Carolina State great David Thompson, although I (like every other pickup player) was about 20,000 leagues beneath him. Thompson usually plays earlier in the day (or at least he did when I lived there), so I’m hoping I don’t have to watch him jump over me again. Also planning to see a few former co-workers tonight.
But the real purpose of the trip is to cover Sunday’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers. I’ll be live from Bank of America Stadium tomorrow morning and will provide updates before, during and after the game. I’ll also be using the bank of televisions in the press box to see if Atlanta bounces back from its disastrous opener when the Falcons play the Cardinals.
