Atlanta running back Jason Snelling has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
With starter Michael Turner and backup Jerious Norwood banged up, Snelling carried 24 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-7 victory against Arizona. He also caught five passes for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Turner’s groin injury isn’t believed to be anything serious. But Norwood was lost for the season with a knee injury. That means Snelling should continue to play a big role in the Atlanta offense.
