I talked recently about how, at this moment, I’d put Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner as the NFC South’s MVP. Part of the reason for that thinking is due to how strong Turner has come on lately.
But I didn’t truly realize just how dramatic that’s been until I looked at some numbers from ESPN Stats & Information that break down the difference between Turner’s first six games of the season compared to the past eight games.
In the first six games, Turner had 108 carries for 466 yards with one touchdown and two 100-yard games. In the past eight games, Turner has carried the ball 192 times for 790 yards with 10 touchdowns and five 100-yard games. He is also averaging 22 rushing yards more per game.
