Roddy White in offensive Power Rankings

The ESPN.com Power Rankings for offensive players, non-quarterbacks, are out and only one NFC South player made the list.

That’s Atlanta receiver Roddy White, who came in at No. 6. I had White at No. 5 on my ballot and AFC West colleague Bill Williamson had him all the way up at No. 2. White might have cracked the top five if Mike Sando and Paul Kuharsky had put him anywhere on their ballots.

I also had Atlanta running back Michael Turner on my ballot at No. 6, but he didn’t make the top 10 as Kevin Seifert was the only other panelist to give him a vote.

No other NFC South players received votes from any of the panelists. With the quarterbacks out of the equation, I can’t argue with that. The only other guys who rank near the top at their positions are New Orleans guards Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks and Carolina tackle Jordan Gross. Sorry, but I couldn’t justify putting an offensive lineman on my list for this one. We’ll have Power Rankings on left tackles in a couple of weeks and I can assure you Gross and Tampa Bay’s Donald Penn will be on my ballot.
