Southern exposure for Week 9

Time for our weekly look at where Sunday’s NFC South games will be televised throughout the nation.

As always, let’s take a look at the map on the506.com for visual aid. You will see a whole lot of blue and only a little bit of yellow.

The blue is the game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints. It’s a division showdown between the 5-3 Saints and the 4-3 Bucs and it’s going to get huge exposure.

That 1 p.m. ET game is going to be shown through almost the entire South, just about the whole Midwest, in Ohio, much of Pennsylvania and New York and virtually all of New England.

The yellow is the game that will be played at the same time between the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts. That game isn’t going to get nearly as much exposure as the Bucs and Saints. I don’t think that’s really a slight on the Falcons. I think it’s more of a reflection that the Colts are winless and playing without injured quarterback Peyton Manning.

That game will be shown only through most of Georgia and Indiana and small pockets of Ohio and Missouri.

The Carolina Panthers have a bye this week.
