TAMPA, Fla. -- Carl Nicks' comeback from a toe injury that caused him to miss the second half of last season has hit a roadblock.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano said that Nicks has an infection on another part of his foot. The infection came after the offensive guard took part in joint practices with the New England Patriots last week. Schiano said Nicks developed a blister and an infection followed. Nicks was held out of Friday night’s preseason game with the Patriots.
“So the next question is how long will he be,’’ Schiano said. “I don’t know that. We’ve got to let the medicine run its course and see if we can’t get that thing straightened out.’’
