Falcons report: Roddy White might practice

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White, who missed the past two games with hamstring and ankle injuries, could return to practice Friday if cleared by the doctor Thursday, head coach Mike Smith said.

White was scheduled to meet with the doctors following Thursday's practice. He did not participate Thursday, but was on the field observing in a floppy hat after some running drills with the training staff.

If White receives clearance, he would be limited for Friday's practice, Smith said. A return to practice does not guarantee White will play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

"Roddy continued to work on the side today,'' Smith said. "He will see our doctor this afternoon, and (the doctor) will make the determination on what level he'll be able to participate tomorrow."

White hasn't been himself since suffering a high-ankle sprain during the preseason. He injured his hamstring during a Week 5 loss to the New York Jets.

Here is the full Falcons' injury report from Thursday:

Did not participate: WR Roddy White (hamstring, ankle); LB Stephen Nicholas (quad)

Limited: LT Sam Baker (knee); DE Osi Umenyiora (knee); RB Jason Snelling (ankle); G Joe Hawley (elbow); DT Peria Jerry (toe); S William Moore (hip)

Full participation: LB Akeem Dent (ankle); RG Garrett Reynolds (knee).
