TAMPA, Fla. -- It's now official. Reggie Bush will return to action today after sitting out four games with a knee injury.
That news might be better for Saints fans than it even sounds on the surface. With gusty winds already blowing and heavy rain in the forecast for later in the day, the Saints may have difficulty throwing downfield.
Not that Bush is a grind-it-out kind of runner, but he at least gives the Saints the potential for explosiveness in the running game and on short passes.
With Bush active, running back Mike Bell will be on the inactive list today. The other inactives for the Saints are cornerback David Pittman, fullback Mike Karney, linebacker Marvin Mitchell, guard Jamar Nesbit, tackle Jermon Bushrod and receiver David Patten.
