Salary-cap numbers are very much in flux these days as teams are getting ready for the league year.
But I was able to get my hands on some numbers that should be totally up to date (and these include some incentive payments that recently were added to the books), unless NFC South teams have made moves we don’t know about today.
We do know the Saints restructured the contract of defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley. That puts the Saints at about $2.9 million over the cap and means they still have some work to do.
The Carolina Panthers have even more work to do. They’re 3.625 million over the $123 million cap. The other two NFC South teams are well under the cap.
Atlanta is $21.603 million under the cap. Tampa Bay is $32.716 million under the cap and that number could hit $40 million if the Bucs release cornerback Eric Wright, as many expect.
