NFC South continues purge of troubled players

Just like the Saints did Tuesday, the Bucs wasted no time in parting ways with a troubled player Wednesday.

Only a few hours after a report surfaced that wide receiver Anthony Mix had been indicted for allegedly having sex with a minor in Alabama, the Bucs put out a one-line statement saying he had been released.

The Saints released receiver Biren Ealy and tight end Kolo Kapanui on Tuesday after they were charged with lewd behavior over the weekend.

Give the Saints and Bucs credit for not putting up with off-field trouble. But keep in mind that each of these three players were long shots to even make the regular-season roster and that helped make them very expendable.
