Call It: Saints pick

When it came my turn to make the pick for the New Orleans Saints in the ESPN.com Blog Network mock draft, I wasn’t overwhelmed with my options.

At No. 24, I saw no big surprises fall into my hands. I know general manager Mickey Loomis and coach Sean Payton don’t always draft for immediate need, but I did.

I went with Iowa’s Adrian Clayborn, mainly because I thought he was the most complete defensive end on the board. I also considered Ohio State’s Cameron Heyward, and I know his last name carries some weight in New Orleans since his father, Craig “Ironhead’’ Heyward played there and was a fan favorite.

I also considered Alabama running back Mark Ingram and Baylor defensive tackle Phil Taylor. You’re free to agree on Clayborn or pick someone else. Just take a look at the Call It poll to the right and cast your vote.
