NFC South links: Barber still mulling return

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons, who have 11 picks in next month's draft, figure to load up on defensive players, writes the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter. “It’s exciting to see that it’s a nice group of defensive players,” GM Thomas Dimitroff said. “Both lines, offensively and defensively, there are a number of players that can be impactful for a lot of teams. It’s a nice safety group. In all, I believe that it’s a good group of talent across the board.”

Receiver Julio Jones is already one of the best players at his position in the league, writes Daniel Cox of atlantafalcons.com. Cox: "Combining his touchdowns from 2011 with last year's total, [Jones] ranks tied for ninth in the league over that time period with 18 TDs. That total is the most by any Falcons receiver in history during his first two seasons."

Carolina Panthers

FIU safety Jonathan Cyprien worked out for the team Tuesday, reports Jenna Laine.

The Charlotte Observer's Mark Washburn has an unconventional stadium deal for the Panthers.

New Orleans Saints

National Football Post's Russ Lande has put together a new mock draft, and he tabs the Saints to select Missouri defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Defensive back Ronde Barber, 38, is still undecided on whether he's going to return for a 17th season, reports Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. "I have not made a decision yet,'' Barber said. "[The Buccaneers] have allowed me to not rush the decision so I'm not going to rush it."
