Quick notes on the Falcons

The Falcons just announced a couple of news items. The team has signed linebacker Edmond Miles and shuffled its scouting department.

Miles has appeared in 18 games with the Dolphins and Giants over the last two seasons. Undrafted out of Iowa in 2007, Miles led the Dolphins in special-teams tackles that season.

General manager Thomas Dimitroff tapped into his New England background and hired Marvin Allen as the scout for the Eastern region. The team also promoted Mark Olson to scout the Western region and hired Bob Kronenberg as an area scout.

Allen spent the last 16 seasons scouting for the Patriots. Olson's been on Atlanta's staff for 11 years as an area scout and Kronenberg had spent the last seven years as a coach with the Arena Football League's Georgia Force, which is owned by Falcons owner Arthur Blank.
