Let's take a look at some odds and ends from around the division:
After playing a Thursday night game, the Falcons altered their schedule. Coach Mike Smith gave the players the weekend and Monday off before returning to practice Tuesday. The team will be back on its regular schedule Wednesday and Smith said he expects defensive tackle Peria Jerry, who has been sidelined with a thigh injury, to return to practice. Smith wasn’t as definitive when it came to cornerback Asante Samuel (shoulder), but said he’s hopeful the veteran can practice at some point this week.
The team added three guys to the roster, who probably have little chance of being on the team next season.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
It appears as if offensive line coach Aaron Kromer will be staying with the Saints. There’s a report Boston College has hired Steve Addazio as its new coach.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Mark Cook takes a look at Tampa Bay’s playoff chances. The Bucs may be a long shot, but they can’t be written off yet.
With the news about Boston College, it’s obvious offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan isn’t leaving the Bucs – at least not yet. Don’t be surprised if Sullivan’s name pops up elsewhere in the future. He’s done a nice job with the Bucs and is widely respected on the NFL and college levels.
