Around the NFC West: June 19, 2013
The NFC West rivalry that keeps on giving gave a little more Tuesday when Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas answered questions about San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.
Thomas, speaking on NFL Network, suggested the Seahawks' 42-13 victory over the 49ers late last season might have led Harbaugh to comment so specifically regarding Seattle suspensions over the past couple seasons.
"I think he’s a little salty from that beatdown when they came to Seattle," Thomas said, according to a transcript from Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.
Thomas suggested Harbaugh must be bored by the offseason.
"Football is football at the end of the day," Thomas said. "I don’t know. It’s just media. It gives you something to talk about and I guess he enjoys being in the spotlight or seeing his name on TV, or something like that."
Harbaugh generally isn't a seeker of the spotlight, but as players and coaches from the Seahawks and 49ers are finding out, the spotlight is going to shine on what they say.
