Alex Smith has played well enough through two quarters for the 49ers to beat the Seahawks.
The score is tied, 14-14, putting Smith in position to do something significant. Finishing strong while leading the 49ers to victory would represent another step forward for the 49ers' former and potentially future franchise quarterback.
Smith has handled situations quite well to this point. I think the 49ers will win this game if he plays similarly well in the second half.
Another thing the 49ers have to like so far: Their offensive line is generally holding up in protection. I have not studied each lineman individually in this game, but right guard Chilo Rachal has clearly improved over the course of the season.
