The Rams aren't saying which quarterback will start for them against the Cardinals in Week 16.
NullPerhaps that is a strategic decision (although the announcement, when made, will not affect Arizona much).
Rookie Keith Null appears to be the logical choice. The Rams already know what veteran Kyle Boller can and cannot do. Null stands to benefit more from additional experience because he has hardly played.
If the Rams think a somewhat healthy Boller gives them a slightly better chance to win, what does it matter? The difference between 1-14 and 2-13 seems inconsequential except as it relates to draft order and the financial outlays associated with draft order.
Null's passer rating against the Texans (81.2) was higher than any single-game rating Boller has posted since Week 13 of the 2007 season, a span of eight regular-season appearances. The drop-off might not be significant if one even exists, particularly with Boller coming off illness and a thigh injury.
