Still no Hasselbeck on practice field

No surprise: Matt Hasselbeck still isn't practicing with the scout team, Clare Farnsworth of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer notes. Also, the Seahawks aren't interested in DeAngelo Hall.

Coach Mike Holmgren had indicated Hasselbeck could get scout team work at some point this week, with an eye toward returning against Arizona in Week 11. I've been advising skepticism based on experience. Optimism about injuries hasn't translated to results for Seattle.

The Seahawks thought Hasselbeck's back injury wasn't a big deal during camp. They didn't anticipate the nerve situation that has robbed him of leg strength.

It's best to believe Hasselbeck is returning when you see him lined up under center during a game. After what happened to Seneca Wallace earlier this season, seeing a Seattle quarterback on the field during pregame warmups isn't sufficient evidence that he'll play. Hearing about him possibly getting scout-team work at some point in the future means little.
