Niners' offense raises questions

PHOENIX -- The 49ers' new-look offense is succeeding to a degree that begs the question: What took them so long?

We all knew the 49ers were a team set up to run the ball with Frank Gore. And while Gore has gotten his touches this season, he has gotten them within the framework of an offense designed to strike well down the field.

When turnovers and sacks ensued at an alarming rate, the 49ers stuck with O'Sullivan and the vertical passing game through their first 8.5 games. Mike Nolan lost his job along the way.

The offense we're seeing against the Cardinals clearly gives San Francisco its best chance. I'm thinking they'll stick with it.
