Whisenhunt updates Cardinals injuries

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt expects Pro Bowl cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to "progress rapidly" from the knee injury he suffered Sunday.

The team hopes defensive end Calais Campbell can play through a thumb injury the way Rodgers-Cromartie and guard Reggie Wells played after surgeons stabilized their digits with hardware (a possibility for Campbell, who was fitted with a cast Sunday night).

Receiver Anquan Boldin will undergo an MRI exam on his injured ankle. The team is less concerned about the knee injury Boldin also suffered.

Those were the updates Monday from Whisenhunt's news conference. Players are not available to reporters Monday.
