Around the NFC West: 49ers might like Hill

Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat thinks the 49ers might value Shaun Hill over potential free-agent quarterbacks such as Matt Cassel.

Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee says the 49ers brought back Ahmad Brooks at the expense of receiver Chris Hannon. Also, Parys Haralson and Roderick Green played well against the Bills.

Kevin Lynch of Niner Insider offers advice to the 49ers' coaching staff. He thinks the 49ers would benefit from adding audibles to their offense and "sugar" to their defense.

Clare Farnsworth of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer says he expects Matt Hasselbeck back in a Seattle uniform next season.

Also from Farnsworth: Seattle terminated Travis Lulay's contract. The quarterback had been a member of the practice squad.

Chris Sullivan of Seahawk Addicts takes a stab at the expected draft order for the top seven overall choices in 2009. He has the Seahawks picking fourth and passing on receiver Michael Crabtree, who landed in San Francisco by this projection.

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch answers Rams-related questions. He thinks the team needs to re-sign cornerback Ron Bartell.
