Clare Farnsworth of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer says Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell is determined to stabilize the situation at receiver heading into the 2009 season. Re-signing Bobby Engram and Koren Robinson appears more likely as a result.
Don Ruiz of the Tacoma News Tribune says Marcus Trufant's brother, Desmond, has verbally committed to play at the University of Washington.
Mike McFeely of the Fargo-Moorhead Forum checks in with new Seahawks defensive coordinator Casey "Gus" Bradley. Asked about whether Seahawks coach Jim Mora would call plays, Bradley suggested that might be the case. Bradley: "During my interview, coach Mora said he would be involved more than maybe he was in Atlanta when he was the head coach. I was hoping that would be the situation. Here's a guy who has been coaching defense in this league for over 20 years. That is a valuable resource and you have to use it."
Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quotes Seahawks pro personnel directory Will Lewis as giving the Steelers an edge in the Super Bowl, although Lewis did give the Cardinals a chance based on how well they are playing. Lewis: "Pittsburgh's front seven will give Arizona's line fits. Arizona has a bunch of blue-collar workers up front and their quarterback makes the difference by being smart and getting rid of the ball. The Cards really don't have a running game. If the Steelers make Arizona one-dimensional, then it could be a rough day for Kurt [Warner]. That Pittsburgh front seven could wreak havoc."
