TAMPA, Fla. -- The player portion of the Cardinals' first media session at Super Bowl XLIII came and went without controversy.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt is at the podium roughly 15 yards from where I'm sitting in a large, steamy sauna of a tent outside the Cardinals' posh hotel overlooking Tampa Bay. Whisenhunt is talking about the importance of avoiding trouble and distractions during the week.
The Cardinals have been well-coached on the field this season. Anquan Boldin appeared very well coached and disciplined in his approach to the inevitable questions about his sideline confrontation with offensive coordinator Todd Haley in the NFC Championship Game.
A very businesslike Boldin told reporters he had answered those questions already, and he would not be addressing the matter further. Asked about Haley, Boldin offered what appeared to be genuine praise in assessing Haley's impact.
"It has been tremendous," Boldin said. "He challenges everyone on the offensive side of the ball to play at a high level. We're all held accountable on and off the field. I think his part as offensive coordinator has helped elevate us as a team."
Boldin also said his hamstring injury is not a problem.
