ST. LOUIS -- NFC West One landed just in time to catch up with John Clayton on ESPN710 Seattle.
They've posted the audio here (our segment is right at the end). We discussed every team in the NFC West.
Clayton said he expects the Rams to add veteran running back Brian Westbrook on Monday. That move makes sense for the Rams because Westbrook played in the same offense with Philadelphia. It can't hurt surrounding rookie quarterback Sam Bradford with veteran players experienced in the system Bradford is learning.
If Westbrook can provide insurance against another Steven Jackson injury, great for the Rams. If Westbrook can serve as a change-of-pace runner and third-down back, that works as well. If his age and recent concussion issues derail him, at least the Rams gave it a shot. They could always fall back on second-year pro Chris Ogbonnaya, who showed promise in limited work last season.
Bradford remains the top story, of course, and I'll be heading over to the Edward Jones Dome shortly to set up for the Rams' exhibition opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
