Best-case scenario: Rams with No. 2 pick

INDIANAPOLIS -- Draft analyst Rob Rang has agreed to provide periodic draft perspectives concerning NFC West teams. I've been consulting with Rob regularly since the early part of this decade, for good reason. He does his homework.

I asked Rob to provide best-case draft scenarios for each team in the division. We'll start with the Rams because they hold the highest overall choice in the division, second overall.

Rob Rang: The best-case scenario is that Michael Crabtree works out exceptionally well and that Matt Stafford comes off as being very much the leader that everybody wants out of a quarterback, allowing the Rams to possibly trade down.

As far as talent available, I think the best-case scenario for the Rams considering their potential needs at offensive tackle would be for Jason Smith from Baylor and Eugene Monroe from Virginia to be available and they can take their pick between the two.

Next up: Seahawks.
