Breakdown: The NFL did the Rams no favors early in the season, sending them on the road three times inthe first four games and three times during December. Welcome to St. Louis, Steve Spagnuolo. Now, hit the road.
At least the bye week appears at a logical time -- after the eighth game, which is a winnable matchup at Detroit. The Rams come out of the bye with three consecutive home games (Saints, Cardinals, Seahawks). They'll need to fare well in those games to give themselves a chance late in the season.
The Rams will have to be vastly improved to win more than a couple of games during the first half of the season.
Complaint department: You want more? How about zero prime-time games? We expected as much after the Rams suffered through another rough season, but there is very little to like about this schedule from a Rams perspective.
Motivation time: Expect Spagnuolo to use the no-respect angle behind closed doors. The schedule lends itself to an us-against-the-world mentality. If the Rams can pull an upset on the road early -- they'll have plenty of chances -- that approach could help.
