Facebook friend Scott asks: Just curious, assuming that Sam Bradford is offensive rookie of the year and Ndamukong Suh is defensive rookie of the year, would this be the first time the first two picks in the draft took those honors?
Mike Sando: Keith Hawkins of ESPN Stats & Information has the answer. It would be the second time in the common draft era, which dates to 1967. In 1981, top pick George Rogers and second pick Lawrence Taylor won offensive and defensive rookie of the year honors, respectively.
I would favor Bradford and Suh for those awards, and the voting probably should not be close, at least at this point.
