ST. LOUIS -- NFL rules punish defensive players for hitting quarterbacks too high or too low.
Those rules could work against Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel in his matchup against the St. Louis Rams. The appendectomy Cassel underwent earlier this month left him vulnerable more in the midsection than anywhere else. The Chiefs have not yet said whether Cassel would start.
As a result, the Rams might want to make extra sure they follow NFL rules to the letter. This week more than most, they wouldn't want to hit a quarterback too high or too low.
