Following up a previous item, a few more thoughts on the 16 scenarios by which the NFC West champion will be crowned, barring tie scores:
The Week 17 game between Seattle and St. Louis decides the division in 13 of 16 scenarios.
The Rams cannot win the division without beating Seattle at Qwest Field in Week 17.
The Rams cannot win the division if San Francisco wins its final two games. That's why it is so crucial for the Rams to beat the 49ers in Week 16.
The Seahawks cannot win the division if they lose at Tampa Bay and San Francisco wins its final two games. For Seattle, the Tampa Bay game becomes meaningless only if the Rams beat the 49ers.
The more I consider the possibilities, the more I think the Seahawks are most likely to win the NFC West. The Rams will likely have a tough time winning an elimination game on the road, in my view.
