49ers deserving? 'Vernon, he likes to talk'

RENTON, Wash. -- Some of the San Francisco 49ers' comments decrying the Seattle Seahawks' status as NFC West champions have filtered back to the Northwest.

By filtered back, I mean delivered in person by me to former 49ers running back Michael Robinson at his Seahawks locker.

Robinson signed with the Seahawks shortly before the regular season, right after the 49ers released him. He said he had not heard former teammate Vernon Davis' comments suggesting San Francisco "deserved" to win the division.

"I don't got to really say much back," Robinson said. "I'll call him."

Robinson started to say something in response to Davis, but cut himself off. Why bother?

"A bunch of woulda, coulda, shouldas," Robinson said. "We're here. They're not."

As in, the 49ers would have won the NFC West with a 7-9 record had they beaten Robinson and the Seahawks in Week 1.

"But they didn't," Robinson said. "Vernon, he likes to talk."
