Altitude adjustment for NFC West blog

Capt. Bryce Fisher of the Washington Air National Guard -- you might remember him as a defensive end for the Rams and Seahawks -- invited me to board a KC-135 for a refueling exercise involving four F-15 fighter jets over central Oregon.

I'm all over it.

The flight is scheduled to depart McChord Air Force Base near Tacoma at 8:55 a.m. PT, returning about two hours later. Seahawks coach Jim Mora was expected to be among those coming along. I'll be taking pictures and posting them to my Facebook page later in the day, so add me as a friend if you're interested in taking a peek.

A formal invite from Maj. Gen. Timothy J. Lowenberg recommended "comfortable, casual clothing" for civilians making the flight. No Stephen Colbert threads for me.

Note: I am preparing this blog entry in advance and scheduling it to post while I'm in the air. If something significant happens in the NFC West during that time, I'm sure the crew will promptly divert to accommodate the blog.
