Just so you know: Vick not in division's plans

Matt Bowen's note in the National Football Post regarding Michael Vick and the Seahawks revived an apparently indefatigable storyline. I still do not see it happening.

Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell spent about 30 minutes meeting with the reporters who cover the team every day. I was there. The Vick-Seahawks storyline was so far off the radar that no one even bothered to ask Ruskell about the possibility. Coach Jim Mora and the Seahawks have repeatedly indicated they will not be pursuing Vick.

Same goes for the rest of the division. Rams general manager Billy Devaney recently said -- again -- that the team had no plans for Vick. Niners coach Mike Singletary recently used the phrase "dead issue" to describe the possibility of Vick joining the team. Cardinals general manager Rod Graves has said Arizona will not pursue Vick, noting that "we can put that to rest right now."

I'm not sure what else can be said about the subject. The teams in this division will have zero credibility if they suddenly go against their publicly stated stances on this matter. The only way I could see NFC West teams considering Vick -- and even then it might be a long shot -- would be if one of them suffered catastrophic injuries at quarterback.
