Cards' fingers crossed on Adrian Wilson

Initial reports from Arizona Cardinals camp suggest Pro Bowl strong safety Adrian Wilson suffered a significant injury.

The team will not know anything definitive until receiving results from an MRI.

The injury, suffered during practice Saturday, appeared to affect Wilson's upper arm. The fact that Arizona plans to re-sign safety Matt Ware suggests Arizona is bracing for bad news.

Wilson has been vowing to bounce back from a down 2010 season in which he played through an abdominal injury that affected his ability to change directions.

Arizona's secondary was already in transition after the Cardinals traded cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to Philadelphia. Patrick Peterson's addition through the draft should offset Rodgers-Cromartie's departure. Losing Wilson would deprive the team of a respected leader and a player who, at his best, was a danger to quarterbacks and a physical force near the line of scrimmage in particular.
