Seahawks take step toward line continuity

Scratch Breno Giacomini's name from the list of potential Seattle Seahawks free agents.

The team reached agreement with him on a multi-year contract, the Seahawks announced.

Giacomini impressed the Seahawks with his hard-nosed play. He started the final seven games at right tackle after the team lost rookie first-round choice James Carpenter to a season-ending knee injury. Marshawn Lynch enjoyed some of his best rushing games of the season late in the year.

Giacomini could remain at right tackle next season, with Carpenter possibly projecting at left guard once he returns from injury, depending on factors ranging from Robert Gallery's performance to Carpenter's health.

The chart shows the Seahawks' potential unrestricted free agents, how many snaps they played on offense or defense and what their previous contracts averaged in annual value.
