ESPN's Adam Schefter says the St. Louis Rams will trade the second overall choice in the 2012 NFL draft.
The big question, he says, is which team will acquire the pick with an eye toward drafting Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.
One more question: When might a trade take place?
Most trades involving picks take place on draft day. The Rams will want to maximize the pick's value without risking a scenario whereby they wind up having to pick a player second overall.
Multiple factors will come into play. Free agency falls before the draft, meaning some potential trade candidates for the Rams could fill their quarterback needs with veteran players. Also, we do not yet know which teams will like Griffin the most. The teams themselves might not know.
This process is only beginning.
