West chipping away at 2012 draft choices

The NFC West's first 2012 draft choice is under contract.

Michael Floyd, chosen 13th overall by the Arizona Cardinals, joined teammate and third-rounder Jamell Fleming in signing Monday, the team announced.

All draft choices for the Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks are under contract. The San Francisco 49ers have announced deals for all but first-rounder A.J. Jenkins. The St. Louis Rams recently signed first-rounder Michael Brockers, among others, leaving only three without contracts.

The new labor agreement had removed the drama from rookie contracts even as some of the top choices haggle over language, according to PFT.

Note: This makes four consecutive NFC West blog entries focusing primarily on the Cardinals. Dare we make it five? That would have to be some sort of post-Kurt Warner record.
