Seattle fans don't need the drama

The vision of Matt Hasselbeck clutching an injured knee at the Meadowlands had to shake up the Seahawks. The replay didn't look particularly gruesome on the standard-def picture here at the Candlestick Park pressbox, but Hasselbeck's writhing reaction had the look of something season ending.

Hasselbeck is back in the game. He appears to be functioning well enough to run the offense efficiently. The Giants hit him again and Hasselbeck seemed OK.

The Seattle defense can't make the same claim. The Seahawks have appeared conservative defensively on the road over the years, but the Giants beat them deep even with Lofa Tatupu blitzing up the middle and hitting Eli Manning.

The Seattle defense, supposedly a team strength this season, hasn't held up while falling behind, 14-3.
