What it means: The Rams blew a prime opportunity to have a winning record after seven games. They also blew an opportunity to win a road game for the first time this season. The Rams need to win at least once on the road this season for a shot at an 8-8 record. They led the Bucs throughout, but could not finish. They likewise could not finish against Oakland early in the season. Those types of road defeats against flawed opponents will haunt the Rams this season.
Defenseless: The Rams' defense has earned praise this season, but it couldn't stop the Bucs from putting together a 16-play drive to the winning touchdown.
A little help, please: The Rams' offense punted on four second-half possessions before running out of time. Going scoreless in the second half isn't good enough.
What I didn't like: Sam Bradford took only one sack, but the Rams' offensive line committed too many penalties. The team's young offensive tackles have had some problems in protection on the road this season. The Bucs drove back both tackles before forcing Bradford to fumble early in the game. Tampa Bay recovered and St. Louis lost a coach's challenge.
What's next: The Rams return home to face the Carolina Panthers at the Edward Jones Dome.
