Cornerback market favoring Rams' Bartell

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Rams' Ron Bartell keeps moving up the list of cornerbacks with the potential to reach unrestricted free agency.

His negotiating position appears to strengthen every time a higher-profile cornerback leaves the market. The Texans named Dunta Robinson their franchise player Thursday. The Raiders reached an agreement with Nnamdi Asomugha. The Colts previously re-signed Kelvin Hayden.

A few established cornerbacks remain without deals for 2009. The Redskins' DeAngelo Hall and the Falcons' Domonique Foxworth are among them.

The Rams plan to meet with Bartell's agent Thursday night. Bartell finished the 2008 season strong. He's more of an emerging player than an established one. The Rams have made re-signing him a priority.
