You called it: Perfection elusive in Week 15

Posted by ESPN.com's Mike Sando

Only five of more than 100 entrants correctly predicted winners for all three games involving NFC West teams in the Week 15 installment of You called it.

Of the five, mammalboy came closest to picking the correct scores on average, missing each game by a total of 8.3 points on average. His predictions: Dolphins over 49ers (17-13), Vikings over Cardinals (31-20) and Seahawks over Rams (27-24).

Actual scores: Dolphins over 49ers, 14-9; Vikings over Cardinals, 35-14; and Seahawks over Rams, 23-20.

Goldeneagle306, 7Bulls23 and Giant302 each came within one point of hitting the Seahawks-Rams score. Goldeneagle306 predicted a 24-20 outcome. 7Bulls32 foresaw 23-21. Giant302 foresaw 23-19. Well done.

In the 49ers-Dolphins game, no one came closer to hitting the actual score than Big Hawk62 (17-6) and jmann78 (16-13). Each missed by a total of six points.

No one came closer to hitting the Cardinals score than Capp3r, whose 31-14 prediction came within four points. Malbosia32 came within seven points with a predicted 36-20 Vikings victory. No one else came closer than 10 points.

The Wall of Fame, reserved for those who make perfect predictions, remained unchanged:

  • Elion245. Forecast the Redskins' 20-17 victory over the Seahawks in Week 12.

  • Leesters. Forecast the Bears' 27-3 victory over the Rams in Week 12.

  • habitat730. Forecast the Cardinals' 34-10 victory over the Rams in Week 14.

The fine print: Those submitting predictions for "You called it" must pick the winner correctly for their scores to be considered. Scoring is easy to calculate. The difference between a 20-17 prediction and a 31-14 outcome would be 14 points. We would calculate this by adding the difference between 20 and 31 to the difference between 17 and 14.
