Bears announce inactives: Paea out

ST. LOUIS -- The Chicago Bears announced their list of inactives for Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams, and as expected, defensive tackle Stephen Paea is out because of the turf toe injury he suffered in last week’s win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Other Bears inactives include quarterback Jay Cutler, linebacker Lance Briggs, offensive lineman James Brown, offensive tackle Jonathan Scott, defensive end Cornelius Washington and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff.

Paea first injured the toe during a Sept. 29 Bears loss at Detroit, and the setback led to the third-year veteran missing back-to-back outings against the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants.

The timetable for the returns of Cutler and Briggs remains in question. Both could be back in the next few weeks, but Bears coach Marc Trestman hasn’t given a definitive update on either of their statuses. The club is also hoping Ratliff makes his Bears debut in the next couple of weeks.

In other injury news, the Bears will welcome the return of defensive end Shea McClellin, who has missed the past two games after putting together a breakthrough five-sack performance on Nov. 4 at Green Bay.

Rams inactives included guard Harvey Dahl, offensive lineman Barrett Jones, running back Daryl Richardson, cornerback Quinton Pointer, defensive tackle Matt Conrath, offensive tackle Mike Person and defensive end Gerald Rivers.
