Ravens don't activate Pitta vs. Steelers

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens didn't activate tight end Dennis Pitta off the Injured Reserve-Designated for Return list for Thursday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pitta had to be added to the 53-man roster by 4 p.m. ET Thursday in order to play against Pittsburgh. The Ravens have one week left to decide whether to put him on the roster or keep him on IR, which would end his season.

Baltimore is expected to activate Pitta before next Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. He dislocated his hip on July 27 and returned to practice last week.
