Panthers sign first-round pick Shaq Thompson, two others

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers have signed three of their five draft picks, including first-rounder Shaq Thompson.

The team announced on Thursday night that Thompson, fourth-round pick Daryl Williams and fifth-round pick David Mayo have signed. All three received four-year deals.

Thompson, a linebacker from the University of Washington, received $8,808,724 with $7,172,534 guaranteed, according to Spoctrac. He will count $1,601,586 toward the 2015 salary cap.

Williams, an offensive tackle from Oklahoma, received $2,837,120 with $557,120 guaranteed. Mayo, a linebacker from Texas State, received $2,446,254 with $166,254 guaranteed.

Second-round draft pick Devin Funchess, a wide receiver out of Michigan, and fifth-round draft pick Cameron Artis-Payne, a running back out of Auburn, remain unsigned.

The Panthers begin on Friday a two-day rookie minicamp.
