Elvis Dumervil says Ravens 'being taken advantage of' by officials

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil called out the officials for being one-sided against the Baltimore Ravens this season.

"There are a lot of things that I feel like we're being taken advantage of, for sure," Dumervil said Wednesday.

Dumervil's criticism of the officials was unprompted. He steered the conversation to the officials after being asked about whether he's ever experienced this many injuries on the Ravens.

"I will say one thing, the referees ... it's one of the most bizarre seasons I've ever seen," Dumervil said.

Dumervil brought up the fact that the Ravens' opponents have only been flagged for holding once on 454 pass plays and not once in the past 10 games.

It was last month when the NFL acknowledged that an officiating error cost the Ravens a victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Sunday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh complained about the suspect offensive-pass-interference penalty on wide receiver Daniel Brown -- which negated a 52-yard touchdown -- and questioned the officials' spotting of the ball on fourth down around the goal line.

For the season, the Ravens have been penalized 90 times, which is tied for fourth-most in the NFL. Baltimore's opponents have received 77 penalties, which are the sixth-fewest in the league.

Asked why he believes the officials have been one-sided against the Ravens, Dumervil said, "I don't have any reasons. It's just not going our way this year."
