Logan Thomas leans on Bills locker room after death of daughter

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills tight end Logan Thomas and his wife, Brandie, are mourning the death of their daughter after her premature birth Tuesday.

Thomas shared the difficult news with his Twitter followers Thursday afternoon:

Brandie Thomas announced the pregnancy in September. Their daughter, Brooklynn Rose, was due in April. The couple has previously had four children together.

"Work has helped me take my mind off it," Thomas said in the locker room Friday. "But the people in this organization are amazing. We've had nothing but love and support from everybody in here. Everything we've ever needed. Just a couple of people who have gone through the same thing we have. Just being able to lean on them is nice."

Thomas and his wife found about the complication Monday evening and called Bills coach Sean McDermott.

Members of Thomas' family traveled to Buffalo to be with Brandie, allowing Logan to attend Bills practices and meetings Thursday after he was excused from Wednesday's practice.

"[Brandie] is doing good," Thomas said. "She's healthy. Obviously just like anybody else who's out there that's going through the same thing, it's an emotional fight. It's something we're going to have to push through. It's going to be a little bit of a recovery, but she's tough. She's my rock. I know how she is. She's a fighter. She'll be just fine."
