Wrap-up: 49ers 24, Broncos 16

Wrapping up the Denver Broncos' 24-16 loss against the San Francisco 49ers.

What does it mean: The Denver Broncos are 2-6 at the bye. It will be a long flight home from London for the Broncos, who weren’t embarrassed Sunday like they were in a 45-point home loss to Oakland. But the bottom line is Denver coach Josh McDaniels is 4-14 after starting his Denver tenure 6-0

Tomorrow’s talker: It’s going to be McDaniels’ job security. Denver fans are really down on him and will squawk even louder now that the Broncos were beaten by a team that had one previous win. It won’t matter. Denver very likely won’t fire McDaniels this season, but that won’t stop the complaining by Denver fans.

Trending: Denver quarterback Kyle Orton and receiver Brandon Lloyd continued to produce. Orton threw for 369 yards and Lloyd had seven catches for 169 yards. But Orton was uncharacteristically sloppy. He lost two critical fumbles and threw an interception, which all played a role in the Denver defeat.

What’s next: The Browns will have the week off and then will host AFC West leader Kansas City on Nov. 14. McDaniels is 0-4 against AFC West teams at home.
