Asomugha, Miller and McCluster are out

OAKLAND – The Oakland Raiders will be without star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and standout tight end Zach Miller on Sunday against Kansas City in a critical AFC West game.

Asomugha has an ankle injury and Miller has a foot issue. Neither player practiced all week, and they were listed as doubtful on the injury report. Chris Johnson will replace Asomugha and play opposite Stanford Routt. Brandon Myers will spell Miller.

The Chiefs have the No. 1 run offense in the league. On a wet day in Oakland, the Chiefs are expected to pound the ball. Without Asomugha on the field, expect Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel to take his shots in the air. Asomugha shuts down half the field, so he will be missed. Miller is a pivotal part of Oakland’s passing game and he will be missed by quarterback Jason Campbell.

Meanwhile, Kansas City rookie receiver/returner/running back Dexter McCluster is missing his second game with an ankle injury.
