DENVER -- OK, this is getting silly.
Denver (2-6) took a 35-0 lead with 5:49 to go in the second quarter over first-place Kansas City. Linebacker Jason Hunter returned a Matt Cassel fumble 75 yards after a sack to give Denver, which has scored on all four of its offensive possessions, a five-touchdown lead.
Cassel has been sacked four times Sunday. Denver had nine sacks in its first eight games.
It is a party atmosphere in Denver. The last time Denver was at home it was embarrassed 59-14 by Oakland. The Raiders had a 38-0 lead in the second quarter. Second-year Denver coach Josh McDaniels was booed when he left the field and apologized for his team’s performance.
Now this? What a nutty league.
