INDIANAPOLIS -- At a look at a huge win for San Diego.
What it means: The Chargers showed the rest of the AFC they are back in the playoff conversation with a convincing prime-time win over the Colts. San Diego has now won four straight games and is 6-5 after starting 2-5. The Chargers trail Kansas City (7-4) by one game in the AFC West and lead Oakland (5-6) by one game for second place.
Tomorrow’s talker: The Chargers won this game by stopping Colts’ superstar quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning was intercepted four times. The Chargers took two of the interceptions back for touchdowns. On a night when San Diego’s high-powered offense had to settle for five field goals and one touchdown, San Diego’s defense won this game by manhandling Manning.
Trending: Another game, another injured offensive weapon. In his first game back from his holdout, receiver Vincent Jackson had to leave the game early with a calf injury. San Diego’s offense has been riddled by injuries all season. It is not known how long Jackson will be out. Still, through the injuries, the Chargers continue to be one of the hottest teams in the NFL.
What’s next: The Chargers host Oakland in a pivotal game for both teams. The Chargers will be trying to avenge a loss to Oakland in October.
